Is Arizona Really Hotter Than Hell?

Someone asked me today how it was in Arizona. Many people in Arizona don’t actually read thermometers, but rather resort to the three common measurements of temperature in Arizona:

1. Damn Hot. which is roughly 100-110, but often feels hotter. This is usally what visitors say

2. Hot as Hell. I think that’s about 115 or more, which is a pretty common summer occurrence, although not quite accurate due to the fact that hell is I am sure at least 750.

3. Hotter Than Hell. This is just plain wrong. It can’t be hotter than hell really. But it does make you think “if it’s this hot in Arizona…. I sure don’t want to go to hell.”

One thing I notice is that I don’t hear people telling others to “go to hell” in Arizona. Perhaps it because they soberly realize how hot that could be. I mean I don’t think Alaskans and Canadians have any concept of hell - well expect for the hell freezing over part, which if they knew hot how it was, they’d never say that.

Well, that’s got to be the most random post I have ever done… I just might need those meds after all.

I have never been to Arizona but from what I can tell from watching the Diamondbacks and the Cardinals, the heat is excruciating. As a New York Giants fan, I was worried about players cramping up during the Super Bowl. I do not think I could handle that type of heat.

Yeah, I often worry about the firefighters. I know back east we had a few deaths at the fire academy due to heat, and I can only imagine it’s worse out here. I know they do take a few more precautions here at the fire academy for that reason.
